OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS

Prayer-Our-Relationship-With-Jesus.jpg

Today the Holy Family Sisters recognise that their relationship with God in prayer is fundamental for their life. Without prayer we will accomplish nothing.

Each day we take time to build our relationship with God and each day in community we bring before God the needs and hopes of our brothers and sisters throughout the world, their expectations and their hopes.

We consider daily personal prayer a privileged meeting place with God. In this sacred space we are present to Christ in silence and open to his love. Here we allow the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts and minds and lead us forward in faith to the mission which God entrusts to us.

“It is to God we have given our heart.  He must possess it completely.”
— Saint Emilie

Jesus’ prayer did not separate him from people. It established him at the core of his mission. So too our prayer unites us with the compassion of God and renews our missionary incentive.  Each day in community we bring before God the suffering of our brothers and sisters throughout the world.

The Eucharist is at the centre of our lives and we participate in the Eucharist daily, as far as possible.  We also share in the praise and intercession of Christ, through the prayer of the Divine Office, morning and evening.

We take time each day for personal meditation.  We see this as a privileged meeting- place which strengthens the contemplative aspect of our vocation as Holy Family Sisters.

Our encounter with God is also deepened by longer periods of prayer: monthly and yearly retreats.

It is the presence of the God of Love welcomed in our prayer and action that bring about the unity of our religious life.  WE ARE CONTEMPLATIVES IN ACTION.
